Houtakker is a Dutch word meaning lumberjack. It’s also a groovy pop-band fronted by Joseph Murphy of Pet Lions. Justin Fernandez (Thin Hymns, Distractions) Matt Fields (Sea Priest, Distractions) and drummer Paul Newmann join Murphy to create these laid-back tunes inspired by vintage analog gear and graphic designers Saul Bass and Massimo Vignelli. More interested in tones, textures and melodies than technique Houtakker just want to make you feel good.
